Job Description

Perform modeling in a classroom or studio environment as a subject for student artists learning to make artworks from life. Art classes range from 2.5 – 4.0 hours in length.

Qualifications

Must be able to stand for long pose, short pose, and active poses as needed. Previous experience helpful, but not required.

Job Specific Qualifications

Regular, prompt and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to deal tactfully with students, faculty, and administration in routine classroom contacts.
General aptitude for art and art forms.
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
Ability to communicate effectively orally, by phone, in person, and in writing.
Ability to represent the department and University in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
Adult models needed, no children.

Responsibilities

Art models will pose for classes designed to teach figure drawing, modelling and others processes to Syracuse University students enrolled in a class.
Work involves holding an assigned pose for a period of time varying from several minutes to a few hours.
Responsible for holding and getting back into a body position.
Work is performed under the instruction and general supervision of a faculty member.
Instructional sessions are conducted professionally.
