Job Description

Student Centers and Programming Services (SCPS) serves the Syracuse University community by managing the Schine and Goldstein Student Centers and Skybarn and scheduling non-academic programs on campus. The office serves approximately 400 recognized student organizations, as well as all academic and administrative departments on campus. We act as an information network for the campus by coordinating support services such as technical needs, room set-ups, safety needs, and scheduling over 13,000 programs each fiscal year. Our mission is to create an environment for the Syracuse Community which exemplifies quality service through dedicated student driven support.

The Late Night Manager is responsible for managing the Goldstein Student Center from 12 am midnight – closing 2 am (Sundays – Thursdays). Also, this position will assist and manage the Late Night Movies in conjunction with the Orange After Dark Program (Fridays & Saturdays). This position will take on many different roles which include problem solving, supervision, security and safety oversight, customer service, and event logistical support. The Late Night Manager will report to the Reservations and Building Operations Professional Staff.


Close the Goldstein Student Center on nights when it is scheduled to be open past midnight (Sunday through Thursday).

During the end of each semester, close the Schine Student Center when it is scheduled to be open past midnight.

Monitor building security and safety by conducting hourly walk-throughs.

Handle emergency situations, disturbances, and alarms. Immediate notification of proper Professional Staff in situations which include Public Safety, the Safety Office, city of Syracuse Police or Fire Departments.

Attend any staff meetings and training sessions.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Enrolled as a current graduate student with Syracuse University.
Strong written and oral communications skills.

General knowledge of computers.

The ability to work independently.

The availability to work weekend hours.

Previous customer service experience.

Must present a professional image.

Must be willing to perform manual labor including moving items up to 50 lbs.
