Job Description

The Department of Human Development and Family Science in the Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics at Syracuse University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor whose research addresses family processes in adulthood, particularly as related to adolescent development, emerging adulthood, or adult life-span development. Candidates who examine these topics within broader family, social/socioeconomic, community, and cultural contexts, and who have the potential to achieve a strong record of publication, establish a program of funded research, and engage in high quality teaching are encouraged to apply. Position will begin fall 2018.

Qualifications

Applicants for the position must hold a doctoral degree in human development, family studies or a related discipline in the social and behavioral sciences.

Responsibilities

This individual will develop and maintain an active research program, pursue external funding, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their areas of expertise; supervise and mentor graduate students; advise undergraduate students; provide service to the program, department, college, or university; and establish professional liaisons with organizations in their scholarly field both domestically and internationally.
