Job Description

An individual is sought to teach courses in the areas of generalist and/or advanced clinical practice or human behavior and the social environment. Position includes expectations for an active program of research and publication, including participation in seeking external funding to support research. All faculty are expected to engage in service in the college, university, profession, or community.

This is a tenure-track position which begins August, 2018.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a doctorate in social work or related field, an M.S.W., and at least two years post-M.S.W. practice experience if interested in teaching social work practice. Candidates will be expected to show prior teaching experience or other evidence of teaching ability and effectiveness.

Candidates should have a defined research agenda and a record of publication commensurate with experience.

Job Specific Qualifications

A program of research in one of the areas in which the school has identified for special emphasis and with possibilities for collaboration (e.g., intervention efficacy, trauma, organization and delivery of mental health services, veterans’ health and mental health, animal-assisted interventions). Experience seeking or participating in externally funded research.

Responsibilities

Teach courses at the graduate or undergraduate level, especially in the areas of generalist and/or advanced clinical practice, or human behavior and the social environment.

Carry an advising load of graduate or undergraduate students.

Participate in curriculum maintenance, development, and assessment within the School of Social Work.

Conduct an active program of research and publication, including participation in seeking external funding to support research.

Engage in committee work and service activities in the school, college, university, profession, or community.
