Job Description

The student will receive thorough training and gain valuable experience working on tasks supporting open access, scholarly communications, and open publishing. Tasks include: creating and editing departmental digital communications, communicating with patrons and external partners, and participating in workflows related to the libraries’ institutional repository, SURFACE.

Responsibilities

• Assist in triage system for maintenance and development of the institutional repository
• Participate in workflows involving metadata, open access, patron communications, rights and permissions, and open publishing
• May assist in instruction, development of departmental digital communications, marketing, or other projects

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Dependable, attentive to detail
• Ability to follow complex directions
• Excellent customer service and organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• iSchool graduate student
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat DC
• Knowledge of library databases, fair use, open access, open educational resources, copyright, and citation conventions a plus
