Job Description

The Career Services office at the College of Law offers individual career counseling appointments for law students regarding their future career path and sponsors many events and informational workshops on career-related topics. The role of the work-study student will be to support the front office staff, professional counselors, and visitors to the office whether students, employers, staff, or alumni.

1. Reception/Front Office Duties:

· Meet and greet visitors (students, faculty, alumni, employers) to the office.
· Distribute mail to addressees.
· Make copies, as requested.
· Answer office phone when front office staff are occupied.
· Answer visitors’ questions (if possible) and/or forward questions to appropriate staff.

2. Technology:
· Input received job postings into Symplicity database
· Add student program attendance notes to student profiles in Symplicity database
· Transfer/input office sign-in data onto Excel spreadsheet
· Create and maintain mailing lists and spreadsheets of attorneys, legal employers, and judges
· Schedule student/counselor appointments in Outlook
· Review website to make sure all links are functional
· Conduct online research to determine graduate outcomes for recent graduates (Linkedin, FB, Twitter, etc)
· Publicize Career Services events through email, social media, and law school digital boards

3. Miscellaneous:

· Support office staff in preparing for events and programs
· Execute special projects for office staff as requested
