Job Description

Under the direction of the Interim Team Lead, the Program Assistant will work with the newly formed DLP Core Team to collect, create, and manage documentation and projects relating to the implementation of Syracuse University Libraries Digital Library Program Plan. The incumbent will participate in planning meetings that focus on workflow development and coordination of effort between various library stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Attend and take notes at all meetings of the Digital Library Program Core team. Synthesize and edit documentation created by members of the Core Team under the direction of the Interim DLP Core Team lead. As needed, work with various members of the Core team to execute various documentation projects. Assist in documentation and project management using Google Docs, Trello, Slack, and other project management tools. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program at Syracuse University. Library degree preferable but not necessary. A good opportunity for someone interested in digital libraries.

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to synthesize and process complex information. Proficiency or familiarity with the principles of project management. Education or experience in the area of digital libraries. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Attention to detail.

Job Specific Qualifications

Library experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit for long periods of time, stand for long periods of time, and crouch/bend repeatedly.

Tools/Equipment

Google Docs, Trello, Slack, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Oxygen, others as required.
