Job Description

The Functional Business Analyst will work closely with Program Directors, Managers, IT and Research teams in developing and maintaining various program and data solutions based on the Salesforce platform, supporting internal and external partners with the integration and use of our Salesforce data. This position will be responsible for the administration of our Salesforce application, including continuing customization and development, user maintenance, database clean-up, development of reports and dashboards, and ongoing documentation. The position will also be responsible for functions including but not limited to, profiles management, user management, roles, workflows, leads, opportunities, permissions and training for users. This role is also responsible for evaluating new functionality and prescribing rollout plans: including socialization, communication, testing and release management. Will advise leadership on the expansion of uses for Salesforce, and the design and management of ongoing development in order to deliver the best data and analytics to our stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information System, or related field
• 2+ years’ experience Salesforce administration and/or implementation skills required
• A least one Salesforce certification (i.e. ADM201)
• Salesforce development experience (certification is a plus)
• Java or similar object-oriented software development experience
• Experience with a CRM system is a plus
• Working knowledge of SQL, database systems and Excel
• 2+ years’ experience in software development and project management

Job Specific Qualifications

• Proficient in SFDC Administrative tasks such as creating profiles, roles, users, page layouts, email services, approvals, permission sets, workflows, reports, dashboards, tasks and events
• Experience designing custom formula fields, field dependencies, validation rules, workflows, and approval processes for automated alerts, field updates, and email generation according to application requirements;
• Understanding of Standard, Custom and Managed applications
• Development in Apex triggers, unit testing and Visualforce a plus, but not required
• Thorough understanding of Salesforce execution limits and batch processing techniques
• Strong analytical, problem solving and data management skills

Responsibilities

• Define, create and manage complex workflow rules, data validations, process controls, triggers, and notification automations
• Define, design and create customized reports and dashboards on the CRM platform
• Establish and develop the necessary documentation to support the full platform development lifecycle including business requirements, test procedures and validation, product deployment, communication and change management
• Daily administration and support of the Salesforce.com CRM platform including, but not limited to, managing multiple user setup, profiles, roles, customization of objects, fields, record types, page layouts, validations, package deployment, and third party integrations
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and implement custom objects and advanced functionality using Apex and Visualforce
• Evaluate new functionality and prescribe rollout plans: including socialization, training, communication, testing and release management
• Troubleshoot all Salesforce user issues and track system issues through resolution
• Manage development projects – design, testing, and implementation
• Assist with website page development and integration of Salesforce
• Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, configurations, controls, and training materials as the platform evolves
• Facilitate the software testing process, including creating, scheduling and executing test plans, tracking issues, and gaining business approval
• Stay current with new CRM features and functionality, through individual learning and formal training, to provide recommendations for process improvements and maximize the platform to provide valuable business solutions
• Communicate system features and enhancements via email and documentation, such as release notes, to the user community on a recurring basis
• Conduct user training on new and existing features
