Hiring is based on availability to current open shifts.

Job Description

The Reservations and Building Operations (RBO) employees are responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Schine and Goldstein Student Centers and Skybarn, as well as the information desk and the main desk in the Student Centers and Programming Services (SCPS) office. This position is an essential service and is expected to work all hours that all facilities are open, including nights and weekends. The RBO employees will be responsible for scheduling events on campus, setting up meetings rooms in designated facilities, opening and closing student centers, displaying effective communication and problem solving skills, and utilizing available resources.


• Work shifts in the Schine and Goldstein Student Centers and Skybarn.
• Provide customer service, both on the phone and in person.
• Handle emergency situations, disturbances, alarms within the centers. Immediately notify proper professional staff.
• Open and close the Schine and Goldstein Student Centers and Skybarn. Open and close spaces within the building according to the daily event schedule.
• Set up/breakdown of meeting rooms in both centers, including basic audio/visual equipment.
• Manage building resources including, but not limited to, audio/visual equipment and conduct hourly walk-throughs.
• Schedule room requests on the Resource 25 (R25) computer system.
• Create diagrams for conference rooms in Schine and Goldstein Student Centers.
• Complete the Daily Printouts for Schine and Goldstein Student Centers.
• Provide knowledge of Information desk areas, including bulletin boards, kiosk and information resources.
• Attend all staff workshops, fall/spring orientations and Communication, Appearance and Problem Solving (CAPS) workshops.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must have good judicial standing with the University.
• Strong written and oral communications skills.
• General knowledge of computers.
• The ability to work independently.
• The availability to work flexible hours.
• Must present a professional image.
• General knowledge of Syracuse University.
