Job Description

This position supports all functions of the Office of Career Services at the College of Law. This position is the front line contact with students and provides administrative support to the director, associate director, and assistant director.

The College of Law particularly welcomes applications from candidates for this position who contribute to the diversity of the College of Law community.


• Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience of at least five years; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Job Specific Qualifications

• Strong technology/database and communication skills are required. Also required are excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow set procedures and protocols.

• Considerable experience with administrative tasks is preferred; experience with accounting and budgeting is preferred. Knowledge of University policies and procedures, personnel systems, Orange Tracker, and PeopleSoft is preferred.

• The successful candidate must have superior interpersonal skills, demonstrate initiative, possess strong forward thinking and organizational skills, and be able to multi-task and work closely and collaboratively with students and staff. Positive professional demeanor and dress required.


• Greet students, alumni, employers, and other Career Services office visitors; serve as initial point of contact for the office; provide excellent customer service to enrolled JD and LLM students including making counseling appointments and referring students to other appropriate offices; manage phone lines; check daily and respond to the main email account for Career Services.
• Assist with events, programs, workshops and collaborations sponsored or co-sponsored by Career Services; assistance can include making catering arrangements, advertising, arranging for event space, and monitoring student registrations.
• Reconcile departmental purchases and other expenditures; process travel orders and reimbursements, purchase requisitions, and interdepartmental orders. Order supplies. Follow-up to resolve issues as needed. Coordinate records with the College of Law Budget Office.
• Input job vacancies into Symplicity database; problem solve regarding Symplicity resume collection; respond to student questions about postings; send and manage event announcements and manage Symplicity document library. Use MySlice to produce and update regional alumni lists for office programs and student networking purposes.
• Maintain and update databases containing student information including Orange Tracker; provide accurate and comprehensive reports upon request; assist with data collection for the ABA, Middle States review, faculty committees, the Dean of the College, and other constituencies.
• Provide general administrative support as requested by the director, senior associate director, associate director and assistant director, as applicable.
