Job Description

Technology is embedded in every facet of our marketing from digital content to data-driven decision making, and will continue to be a factor in our brands’ success for today and the future. The Marketing Technology Director will be responsible for overseeing our marketing technology stack, including the selection of platforms, implementation, integration, and in driving adoption with key business stakeholders within the Marketing and Communications Division and the University. This role will partner with closely with Central ITS and Marketing and Communications leaders to ensure best in class experiences for the University and its stakeholders. This includes enabling efficient consumer data management, marketing automation, digital asset management, and marketing performance measurement. This position is a key member of the marketing and communications team and interfaces with multiple partners (end user groups), working to ensure successful and timely implementation of marketing solutions that help drive business impact. This role may also supervisor staff. Acting as an internal champion for marketing technology the Marketing Technology Director will instill a comprehensive vision of how the technologies work together to drive business impact.


• Bachelor’s degree and/or a combination of education and a minimum of 7 years of professional experience.

Job Specific Qualifications

• Provide strategic guidance to the Marketing executive team on technology investments and business process reengineering; Lead team member responsible for marketing technology planning, strategy and execution, including adoption and integration across the marketing stack.
• Bridge and key liaison to the IT Department. In partnership with IT, evaluates external technology vendors and responsible for piloting, implementing and adopting selected technologies. In partnership with IT Department, build or implement innovative applications designed to further automate and integrate internal processes and business applications.
• Work across all Marketing and Communications teams to ensure consistently of technology use to increase efficiencies, minimize duplicative costs and ensure consistent brand expression.
• Analyzes technology used by video production, digital and content marketing, creative media and project management teams to ensure efficiency and effectively.
Works with brand development team to leverage technology for online system for sharing brand templates and tools.
• Represents the Marketing team on key initiatives that require implementation of new technology, for example email distribution and wayfinding applications.
• Partners with facilities to ensure technology needs are meet during move to new location and afterward for sustained productivity.
