Job Description

This position is required to effectively plan, develop, and deliver training and technical assistance to up to three Communities of Practice being organized within the IVMF around its nationally facing practices serving the nation’s veterans and their families. Principally focused on the AmericaServes Community of Practice, the individual will serve as a member of the IVMF Community Services team. Duties will be in direct support of the IVMF AmericaServes Community of Practice (A/S CoP) to assist in the mission of drawing upon industry-leading subject matter expertise, innovation, activities, and end-to-end analytics to drive improved, customized, whole-of-community service deliver in the veteran space. In addition, the individual is responsible for managing all sub-awards with up to 18 community partners.


• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree or work towards master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in developing and managing programs for people with disadvantages, disabilities and/or homelessness.
• Direct knowledge of veterans’ issues, challenges and needs, either gained through developing and/or managing veteran employment and/or supportive services programs

Job Specific Qualifications

This is a mid-level management position established at IVMF that requires the experienced incumbent to exercise sound judgment, initiative and independent decision making within the parameters established by the Director and Senior Staff of the Institute. Individual must be comfortable operating with limited guidance and supervision.
• Experience in supporting military and veteran issues and supportive services for people with disadvantages, disabilities and/or homelessness
• Sound judgment, initiative and independent decision making
• Strong writing and oral presentation skills


• Will be expected to develop and manage initiatives supporting the AmericaServes Community of Practice, including management of all contacts in SalesForce; development and distribution of program materials and communications to providers, coordination centers, and key stakeholders; development of presentation materials supporting semi-annual gatherings nationally. In addition, prepare and execute all sub-awards to partners.
• Will design, develop and deliver training and technical assistance materials, curricula and other materials in publication and/or presentation formats and assist in conducting training workshops and/or conference presentations. Knowledge of collective impact and evidence-based approaches required.
• Will help to design service infrastructure elements that facilitate project management, performance, and effective communication to include surveys and other materials and resources to support the Community of Practice.
• Will supervise student employees and interns, as well as support leadership in managing the work of assigned sub-contractors and/or consultants.
• Manages all AmericaServes subawards by serving as a liaison between 18 AmericaServes community partners and the University Office of Sponsored Programs and Office of Sponsored Accounts.
