Job Description

The Burton Blatt Institute (BBI) at Syracuse University is seeking a student with well-developed customer service and writing skills for the Student Office position in BBI’s Syracuse office. The role of the Student Office Assistant will be to assist the BBI Staff in various tasks required to manage the office and provide exemplary customer service to visitors to the Burton Blatt Institute.

Responsibilities

• Support: Assist in providing general office support to the Burton Blatt Institute through daily tasks & projects
• Customer Service: Appropriately answer telephone and walk-in inquiries.
• Assist BBI staff with meeting transcription.
• Provide coverage at front desk.
• Assist with set up/break down of office luncheons.
• Positively represent the Burton Blatt Institute in the office and around campus.

Required Qualifications

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to communicate and interact appropriately and effectively with diverse populations, the College community, and the public
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and sensitive information
• Ability to transcribe notes for meetings.
• Multitasking & the ability to adhere to deadlines
• Must adhere to professional standards and dress code
