Job Description

This position is one of three staff positions in the Dean’s Office responsible for providing administrative support for dean’s office operations and events. Work with the executive assistant to the Dean to coordinate and complete administrative processes, including faculty committee work and special projects. The College of Law particularly welcomes applications from candidates for this position who contribute to the diversity of the College of Law community.


• Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred (3-5 years of working experience in an administrative environment). Experience in an academic setting strongly preferred.

• Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) required. The ability to be part of a team, follow direction, provide direction and prioritize work simultaneously without errors, amidst constant interruptions in a fast-paced environment is needed.

• This position requires professional skills necessary for discreet, effective and courteous interaction with alumni, faculty, administrators, staff and students.

• This is a high profile and critical position that represents the College of Law. It is essential that the person in this position exercise sound judgment, confidentiality, well-developed communication skills, professionalism, and tact when interacting with members of the law school, University and the general public.

• Strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-pace professional environment.

• Oversee and manage the administrative day-to-day operations of the Dean’s Office.
• Serve as the first point of contact for the Dean’s Office – telephone and in-person – interacting with faculty, staff, students, alumni and the general public. Perform customer service duties by providing general information and responding to inquiries.
• Provide administrative support as assigned by the executive assistant to the Dean for special events and projects.
• Maintain electronic calendars, schedule and organize meetings as needed.
• Schedule and reconcile travel as needed.
• Assist in the coordination and budget reconciliation process including reimbursements, purchase requisitions, interdepartmental orders, etc. Follow-up to resolve issues as needed.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies.
