Job Description

The Assistant Registrar for Enrollment & Student Services is responsible for providing leadership and overall management of enrollment, registration processes, and student services. In this role, this position is responsible for insuring timeliness of services, adherence to institutional policies, procedures and federal privacy legislation. As a member of the leadership team, this position will participate in ongoing planning, assessment and evaluation of operations and services and will provide oversight, coaching, rewards and recognition to student services associates.

The Assistant Registrar for Enrollment & Student Services will identify, define, and document processes, including sub-processes, performance objectives and metrics to support organizational objectives and policies in relations to enrollment, including, but not limited to specific processes related to on-line registration, enrollment changes, special population registration, term activation, enrollment appointments, enrollment limits, service indicators and others as designated. This position is also responsible for the undergraduate and transfer first year student registration process and all associated review, updates and maintenance of the First Term Enrollment System (FTES). In addition, this position supports the Post Enrollment Requisite Checking (PERC) process and participates in associated systems testing (PeopleSoft and PeopleTools cycle/releases/upgrades) and other systems as applicable.


• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of 3 plus years’ experience in Higher Education
• Demonstrated commitment in providing high quality services and ability to work in a collaborative, results-oriented environment

Job Specific Qualifications

• Experience with Student Information Systems; PeopleSoft preferred. Expert knowledge of University policies, academic rules and academic processes. Strong Customer Service and leadership skills.
• Be able to attend one conference per year.


• First Year Student Registration – working with schools and colleges, this position is responsible for the first year student registration process and all associated review, updates and maintenance of the First Term Enrollment System (FTES) process.
• Enrollment Appointments – assign enrollment appointments to new and continuing students for all applicable careers and terms; this includes block enrollment, creating unit limits on applicable appointments and assigning extended drop appointments
• Registration Processing – the mass assignment and mass release of student group and service indicators in support of the registration process. Post Enrollment Requisite Checking (PERC) – generating PERC rosters, distributing them to the schools and colleges for review and based upon review completing the PERC drop process
• Process Management – responsible for the overall process of enrollment and registration; this involves communications to students and staff, business process calendars, registration preparation, training, security and systems testing, reviewing impacts on the system and custumizations.
• Direct, with the assistance of the Senior Student Services Associate, the day to day work of the Service Providers.
• Assist the Sr. Associate Registrar with short and long term planning for tasks and duties in this area ensuring work is done in a timely manner meeting efficiency requirements.
• Plan the distribution of work and develop metrics to measure staff performance, evaluate, develop and automate processes to meet current technology requirements.
• Hire, train and supervise staff – providing direction, coaching, rewards and recognition.
