Job Description

Answer telephone inquiries

Make reminder telephone calls to program participants

Perform public outreach (informational tables at events, some public presentations) in churches and other community settings in the South Side and South West neighborhoods

Visit community-based agencies to develop referral sources and learn about available services in the community for African American caregivers

Prepare advertisements and facilitate public relations

Deliver flyers and posters to community settings to promote programmatic activities

Coordinate programming and speakers for programmatic events

Confirm facility scheduling for programmatic events

Follow up with Alzheimer’s Association, Office for the Aging, respite care providers, and other community-based agencies concerning intake assessments and data requirements

Assist with data collection and data entry

Conduct and transcribe caregiver interviews

Assist Project Director and Project Evaluator with other duties as required

Ensure proper forms are prepared for each program activity

Must have own transportation and be able to work some evenings and weekends; mandatory Saturday mornings for 12 weeks from August through October



Required Qualifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience with African American culture.

Knowledge of and experience with client engagement strategies.

Proven ability to coordinate and collaborate with community partners; including referral processes.

Understanding of confidentiality and privacy standards.

Excellent organization and time management skills.

Proven ability to multi-task

Proven ability to work independently

Computer Literacy (experience with Microsoft applications)
