Job Description

The Division of Business, Finance and Administrative Services (BFAS) seeks a highly motivated and energetic professional to serve as the Communications Director. Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive and strategic internal and external communications, the Communications Director will collaborate with and support the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, the division’s senior leadership team, and staff within the BFAS division. This individual, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer will also be responsible for coordinating and aligning with the Division of Communications and Marketing’s overarching marketing and communications strategies.

BFAS units include treasury and University investments, finance and comptroller, planning and budget, facilities, campus services, auxiliary services, and risk management.


• Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred, with 6 plus years of demonstrated effectiveness leading communications, marketing, advertising, or public relations efforts in a large complex organization.
• Higher education experience a plus.

• Commitment to and demonstration of promoting an inclusive environment
• Strong understanding of communication best practices tools and techniques


• Lead the planning, execution and evaluation of internal and external communications related to the divisional strategic planning, positioning and vision. Plan, compose, edit, and review all content for BFAS publications, presentations, digital tools, websites, collateral, Board of Trustees meeting materials, and press releases.
• Guide the development and implementation of BFAS communication strategies across the University; maintain and build relationships that enhance the customer experience, and align support of campus stakeholders.
• Responsible for the creation of BFAS standardized publications, reports, and presentations for University’s key stakeholders. .
• Serve as the BFAS liaison with the University’s Communications and Marketing division and Board of Trustees Office.
